FR\u00a0<\/strong>–\u00a0L\u2019Institut d\u2019\u00c9tudes Africaines (ISA) de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Bucarest a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 en juillet 2017 et inaugur\u00e9 en septembre de la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de la R\u00e9union annuelle du R\u00e9seau international des Chaires Senghor pour la Francophonie, accueillie cette ann\u00e9e-l\u00e0 \u00e0 Bucarest. Il est plac\u00e9 sous la pr\u00e9sidence du recteur de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Bucarest et dirig\u00e9 par un\/e directeur\/trice nomm\u00e9\/e par le recteur pour un mandat de quatre ans, renouvelable.<\/p>

La direction est assur\u00e9e depuis septembre 2017 par Mme Simona Corlan\u2013Ioan, professeure \u00e0 la Facult\u00e9 d\u2019Histoire de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Bucarest, ancienne ambassadrice de Roumanie au S\u00e9n\u00e9gal, au Mali, en Mauritanie, en Guin\u00e9e et au Burkina Faso (2006\u20132011), puis au Royaume du Maroc (2011\u20132016).<\/p>

L\u2019Institut a pour vocation de mettre une longue exp\u00e9rience diplomatique et acad\u00e9mique au service de la connaissance de l\u2019Afrique, dans le champ des sciences humaines et sociales, et d\u2019en faire b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier les \u00e9tudiants et les chercheurs de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Bucarest et de ses partenaires.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

ENGL <\/strong>– The Institute of African Studies (ISA) of the University of Bucharest was established in July 2017 and inaugurated in September of the same year at the annual meeting of the International Network of Senghor Chairs for the Francophonie, hosted that year by the Romanian capital. The Institute is placed under the presidency of the Rector of the University of Bucharest and led by a director appointed by the Rector for a renewable four\u2013year term.<\/span><\/p>

The Institute has been directed since September 2017 by Prof. Simona Corlan\u2013Ioan of the Faculty of History, University of Bucharest, who was formerly Romania\u2019s ambassador to Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Guinea, and Burkina Faso (2006\u20132011), and to the Kingdom of Morocco (2011\u20132016).<\/p>

The Institute\u2019s vocation is to bring to bear a long\u2013standing diplomatic and academic engagement with the African continent on research and teaching in the humanities and social sciences, for the benefit of students and researchers at the University of Bucharest and its partners.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

OBJECTIFS<\/strong><\/p>

\u2022<\/b> la promotion des recherches multidisciplinaires sur l\u2019Afrique ;<\/p>

\u2022 <\/b>l\u2019organisation de programmes de master en partenariat avec les facult\u00e9s de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Bucarest et avec des universit\u00e9s europ\u00e9ennes et africaines partenaires ;<\/p>

\u2022 l\u2019organisation de s\u00e9minaires, de conf\u00e9rences et d\u2019expositions, en collaboration avec des chercheurs et des enseignants partageant les m\u00eames objectifs ;<\/p>

\u2022 l\u2019\u00e9tablissement de relations de coop\u00e9ration avec des institutions similaires, nationales et internationales ;<\/p>

\u2022 la constitution d\u2019une base de donn\u00e9es documentaire (publications, travaux de recherche, bibliographies, p\u00e9riodiques et revues) ;<\/p>

\u2022 la gestion d\u2019une biblioth\u00e8que sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e.<\/p>

L\u2019Institut se con\u00e7oit \u00e9galement comme un centre d\u2019animation culturelle, favorisant la diffusion des connaissances relatives au patrimoine africain, et comme un centre d\u2019expertise au service des acteurs publics et priv\u00e9s s\u2019int\u00e9ressant \u00e0 l\u2019Afrique.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

OBJECTIVES<\/strong><\/p>

\u2022 <\/b>promoting multidisciplinary research on Africa;<\/p>

\u2022 developing master\u2019s programmes in partnership with the faculties of the University of Bucharest and with European and African partner universities;<\/p>

\u2022 organising seminars, conferences and exhibitions with researchers and teachers sharing the same objectives;<\/p>

\u2022 establishing cooperation with similar institutions, both national and international;<\/p>

\u2022 building a documentary database (publications, research, bibliographies, periodicals and journals);<\/p>

\u2022 maintaining a specialised library.<\/p>

CIVIS<\/strong><\/p>

L\u2019Institut d\u2019\u00c9tudes Africaines participe activement au r\u00e9seau CIVIS, l\u2019alliance des universit\u00e9s europ\u00e9ennes dont l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Bucarest est membre. Dans ce cadre, il a port\u00e9 ou co\u2013port\u00e9 plusieurs projets de recherche et d\u2019enseignement r\u00e9unissant des universit\u00e9s europ\u00e9ennes (Aix\u2013Marseille, Universit\u00e9 libre de Bruxelles, Ath\u00e8nes, Madrid, Rome, Glasgow) et leurs partenaires africains privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s (Universit\u00e9 Hassan II de Casablanca, Universit\u00e9 de Sfax, Universit\u00e9 Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar). CIVIS<\/strong><\/p>

The Institute of African Studies is actively engaged in CIVIS, the European university alliance of which the University of Bucharest is a member. Within CIVIS, it has led or co\u2013led several research and teaching projects bringing together European universities (Aix\u2013Marseille, Universit\u00e9 libre de Bruxelles, Athens, Madrid, Rome, Glasgow) and their privileged African partners (Hassan II University of Casablanca, University of Sfax, Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar). An international master\u2019s programme in African studies, developed jointly with these partners, is currently being designed.<\/p>
